We are talking about a question related to the tireless and ever so present search of pleasure. Pure and simple. The mass media tends to present sex as easy, good and spontaneous. Moreover, it implies that people should always be in the mood for it.

The psychological aspect includes issues related mainly with cultural factors. From birth throughout lifetime, people develop their "sexual story" influenced by culture, gender, family and personal experiences. The "story" takes o­n beliefs that they attribute to their sexuality and affect views about the body, roles, power and partnership.

Specifically about female sexual problems

A sexual problem is roughly defined as a dysfunction that appears in the course of sexual activity. Women might experience a range of sexual problems. Nevertheless, there are some that deserve to be detached: 1) not being in the mood for sex; 2) excessive dryness; 3) and pain during intercourse or related to sexual activity.
