Psychologist and Sexologist

The candidiasis, the vaginal mainly, it’s one of the most frequent causes of sex-related disorders. As a fungus of the genus Monilia or Candida, it dwells in the intestinal tract and anal region, and also thrives on the acidic environment of the vagina. Its infection comes under the form of itching, stinging and discomfort during sexual intercourse made obvious by a whitish-milky thrust.

In the woman, both the vulva and the vagina may swollen up and turn reddish in color. As for the man, it comes in form of reddish color in both the glance and the prepuce, thus, eventually, a light edema and the presence of reddish lesions in form of a point.

Certain factors are deemed as predisposing to the outbreak of such sexual disease amidst them are the diabetes Mellitus and pregnancy, the use of oral contraceptives and antibiotics as well as any given drug which may diminish the immune defense. The fungus Candida Albicans is to be found in most people, but the infection itself only occurs when there’s exposure to factors that as such allow its growth above average rate. So low immune response is what usually leads to its overgrowth, because of that it is not considered disease transmissible sexually.

Nonetheless, those in for this infection ought to use preservatives in their sexual relations, once, despite the fact that it’s not a disease of exclusively sexual transmission, a partner might display itching and reddish in his organs thereafter sexual intercourse. There mustn’t be overlooked that the fungi dwell in most people’s system, and if there’s ever the likelihood, it may outbreak and become infectious.

The prevention of candidiasis is done through proper personal hygiene, avoiding leaving the genital region humid, as of women mostly. Yet, it’s recommended the use of woolen underwear, so that heat and moist can be kept at bay. In addition, in women, it’s through clinic exams and smear-test that diagnosis gets approached.
In men, however, the clinic examination means essential. As curable, it can be suppressed by medicinal usage. Only a doctor can prescribe the drugs so as to boast overall efficacy to each particular case.

In spite of it not being a grievous disease, the candidiasis is one the most irritating thrust, as itching gets to annoying levels, which may cause in some, yet, further lesion by abrasion. Thereby and for the sake of a good sexual health, becomes imperative to seek medical aid to solve the problem as soon as possible. Apart from that, Candida may rebound if causes are not cleansed, it’s what the experts call as Candida relapse.

To treat the candidiasis is a question of hygiene, health, self-respect and to the other. Bear in mind that the existence of infection may increase the risk of diseases sexually transmissible, as AIDS and others. Therefore, every spree of care taken after our body bears importance, so that there will be no further complications down the line.

Sexuality comes as a whole. It’s not just the sexual intercourse itself, even more so since every one looks after their own body so as to take the most out of what it provides. To care after your health is to look after your sexuality as well.
